3. Nerve Conditions
Nerve conditions are another cause of back pain and it usually includes shingles. This is a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus (the exact same virus that causes chicken pox) and this inflicts nerve pain on the skin and causes a rash on the skin. 4. Other Causes
Other causes of back pain are being overweight, sitting in one position for too long or any other circumstance in which the body is out of balance. Pain can result from pressure on the root of a nerve or from muscle or ligament strain, often leading to muscle spasms.
