Improve Your Guitar Playing
If you know anything about playing the piano, you understand that a "scale" is a group of notes that are played in sequence in ascending or descending order. There are a number of different scales.
Every scale has unique characteristics, musical qualities, and note styles. We will discuss a little about scales and how to utilize them to improve your guitar playing.
Exercising and playing scales may be unexciting and tedious but you can do it. Scales can help make your fingers stronger, increase your capability to learn higher techniques including guitar solos and improve hand-to-eye coordination.
To start playing the chromatic scale:
1. Try playing the sixth string "open"
2. Take your index finger on the hand you will fret with and press the first fret on the 6th string. Press it once more.
3. With the middle finger, press down the 6th string at the second fret and play the 6th string again.
4. Utilize the ring finger to press down the 3rd fret and play the sixth string.
5. Apply the little finger to press down the 4th fret and play the sixth string back again.
6. Keep on with these steps with the remainder of the strings.
You have now played your first scale!
Other scales are the Major Scale and the Minor Pentatonic Scale. You will be trained on these scales as you keep on using the guitar.
When you have learned notes, scales and chords, you are now prepared to play tracks. Many people have their own favorites whether it is their favorite songs, favorite bands, or favorite pieces of melodies.
Most everybody knows their favorite music by heart and they are confused to play them. This is okay. Nevertheless, it is best to take your time and learn a few basic songs that can help you in getting the idea for the makeup of songs and the feel for timing. You will also have your first chance to sing with your instrument.
