When you pack your car, make sure you include some fundamental tools. The last thing you need is to be caught in the middle of nowhere, without any way to repair your car. A few of the necessary items you need to have in your tool kit include a 12v air compressor, basic wrench set, screwdrivers, hammer, basic tire repair kit, and your usual tools needed to replace your car tires. Also make sure you carry some extra oil and water in case you have engine problems.
When you go to buy the tools for your toolkit, you don't essentially need to buy the most expensive. For example, many online vendors and higher end box stores carry a very reasonably priced 12 volt air compressor, as well as simple hand tool kits. While buying cheap air compressors might appear like a good idea, it's not. Make sure that your tools, especially those that operate off of power, are of a good quality.
